- Blarney Castle is known across
the world because of a stone on its parapet . The
famous Stone of Eloquence.
- To kiss this stone is supposed
to bestow the person kissing it with the eternal gift of eloquence.
- Once upon a time, visitors had
to be held by the ankles and lowered head first over the battlements!

County Down is one of the best grain-growing
areas in Ireland and windmills have always been a feature of
the landscape.
Only Ballycopeland Windmill remains.
It has been fully restored to its
former glory and is an unusual tourist attraction. We think the
Ballycopeland windmill was built around 1780
